Mostly down hill when you hike south but if you hike on through to Black bear wallow the last 5 or 6 miles are mostly up hill. The total hike is around 18 miles and almost kicked my butt! So.... stop at Jennings Creek or be in good shape. The day I hike was around 95 degree's I,m sure that did not help. Good luck!!!
