A nice shady hike. Be sure to start the hike going up the trail on the left, not down to the right. Otherwise you'll end up doing the loop in reverse and have quite a bit of steep rocky incline on the way back (unless you want that). The overlook certainly isn't comparable to Humpback Rocks but the lack of people makes that worth it.

Nice and cool on a hot day - heavily wooded. Just one very nice view - rest is basically a walk in the woods. We couldn’t find the plane crash. Passed just a few people - most not wearing masks (we put ours on when we pass people). Took us 2 hours.

This is a nice fun trail, however it should not be rated as "easy". It's a step above that

Really enjoyed this hike. It was pretty easy going and nice and shaded by all the trees. Park in the Humpback Rocks parking lot and we followed the blue blaze trail. There’s a small offshoot a little ways in that leads to an overlook with a beautiful view! Worth the extra .2 miles or whatever it is. Well worn path, but is rocky in some areas. Close to halfway around the loop, there’s a worn path up a hill to the old plane wreckage. It’s not marked, but you’ll see the path. Loved all the beautiful forest and was so peaceful and quiet we only saw a few other people for a Saturday morning! We had a small dog with us and he did just fine. There are some steeper inclines, but nothing like hoofing up to the top of Humpback rocks. Took us a couple hours since we took our sweet time!

Great trail! We were looking for a short 1.5-2 hr hike that was low difficulty. From the trailhead, we went left which knocked out the majority of the elevation of early. This left us with a nice long leisurely hike on the backend. There is a 0.2 mi offshoot that leads to a very scenic overlook- highly recommend taking the time to add that on. There is plenty of greenery and a couple steams along the way, the only bad part is lack of mountain views on the main trail- but the extra 0.2 offshoot takes care of that!

This trail was great for people who are hiking alone. I did not encounter a single person on my way through (5pm-7pm Monday). I’d imagine it’s even better around fall and winter, when the trees are more bare, since you are surrounded by views of surrounding mountains the whole time.

Good hike. A bit soggy after the rains, so waterproof shoes would be recommended.

Humpback Loop was a little strenuous but nice. We took the loop up and came back down the trail that goes up to the rocks. Was rocky in spots, not much to see but a great workout. Jack Albright loop was an easier hike. Veered off to see the plane wreckage on Dobie mountain. Path was more open and less rocky. Overall was a great experience.

not much in the way of views but if you're looking for an easy and quiet walk through the woods this will give you that.

Great trail. My dad, dog and I went the day after some rain storms. The trail had some really wet areas so we got a little muddy but that’s okay!! Some of the trail had plenty of rocks to walk on while other parts were straight dirt. It was a good mix. Beautiful scenery but no clear over looks. Luckily humpback rock trail is in the same area which has great clear views!

Experienced this trail several times during my time in Virginia. It can be extended by adding it to the Humpback Rocks hike. I suggest going during the week for a smaller crowd. Pretty challenging for the beginner.

This was an easily accessible trail with a decent sized area for parking just minutes from I-64. The trail itself was well-maintained without a lot of elevation change. The were a couple of overlooks with pretty nice views, but just didn't compare to nearby Humpback rocks.

Very nice, relaxing hike. Set up a hammock halfway through and enjoyed the view. If you're looking for a quick hike that's not difficult, this is a good choice.
