This hike is great! Starts off in a leafy forest but once you hike to a higher elevation the pines appear and it’s like you’ve been transported somewhere else. At the fork to overlook there is an area of cairns that’s pretty neat. The view from overlook is amazing!

Short hike but kinda neat. At 0.3 miles in, the trail climbs up over the biggest rock pile I think I've ever seen. There are some pretty good views of White Rock Mountain from the top of this rock pile. From here on to the icebeds, the trail is a little hard to follow. There is no defined "heard path" due to the lack of understory in the woods. You have to keep an eye out for the blue blazes. The "ice beds" are underneath a giant rock slide. I was surprised at how much the temperature changed at the base of the rock slide. It felt like I walked into a walk-in cooler. Very refreshing on a muggy 80+ degree day. Definitely will do this one again when it isn't so buggy. The mosquitoes were fierce.

We’re new to hiking so this seemed slightly difficult at times. We had two children (7 and 13) who did great, however there were several sections that would have been a bit dicey with younger children. Lots of steep drop offs within inches of the trail. Very rocky uneven terrain. The end with the rock slide was anticlimactic due to the lack of micro climate that we had read about. We would do this again if the season was right.

This was a great hike. Moderately difficult. Quite a challenge for my four year old son with points of steady rise and Boulder strewn terrain. Only moderately difficult for my six and eight year sons, & wife who is 32 weeks pregnant. The cold ice beds were very neat, and the stunning Vista views just off trail were gorgeous.

I saw someone's review that said there is not much of a view. I think that person may have missed the left-hand turn to view the vista about a half mile up. This is a stunning area. Especially fantastic if you can spend some time at the boulder cliff by yourself and be amazed. On a hot day, it is refreshing to hike down to the ice rocks for a refuge prior to turning back and climbing back up.

Good, pretty steep hike. No real views but the cool air coming off the giant rock ice beds at the end was fun.

A nice view fairly early in the trail and the ice beds at the end. You will have to watch for the blazes on the trees to follow the trail since the path on the ground is not always visible. The trail is fairly easy with only a few places that are of moderate difficulty.

Good hike as a skiing alternative. well marked trail with great views. Go to the ice beds too. Make sure your boots are water resistant.

Great early winter hike, not to difficult on the down hill in small amounts of snow.

There are some overlooks with nice views of the mountain. The ice beds are at the end of the trail, and you can feel a cold draft coming out through June. If you keep going just past the end of the trail, there is a mountainside of quartz boulders that makes for excellent rock hopping.
