It was a nice little walk and I was excited to finally be able to see the whale tails up close! Not really a trail... you more so just walk across a field. But... you get to see the whale tails up close so it's worth it :)

Half the trail is blocked now by construction

There’s really no designated parking or trail for this. To get to the tails you just walk across a large muddy field. They are really cool once you get there, but the “trail” is non existent.

Not your typical Vermont trail. It’s basically a walk around the edge of a wide open field. The field is between a busy highway and a business park. The highlights are the statues of the whale tails upon a little hill and the view (from the hill) of the mountains in the distance.

A little to open. No scenery.Flat and boring.

Short trail along a grassy roadway. Trail encircles a clover and butterfly filled meadow. Interesting sculpture near the hiway is the main draw.

Great easy path. However, I walked here from St. Georges Road, ran out of walk path, not the smartest thing to walk on side of road.

Good, quick walking path for winter, summer & fall. I would avoid mud season. Usually you'll encounter other locals walking their dogs here.

Very Muddy. Nice spot but I would wait until there is at least a couple days without rain if you don't want to walk in mud

Good for locals needing a quick walk. Otherwise just a field next to a highway. Drove out here on vacation hoping to get a pretty and short morning walk in.

I’ve been doing this walk regularly (multiple times a week) for 7 years and absolutely love it. Convenient location in South Burlington’s Technology Park (It’s right by my work so super easy to head over for quick exercise after). Pretty views of Mt. Mansfield and Reverence Sculpture with stunning sunsets. There’s a pond for dogs to swim in, and most all dogs are OFF leash- which I love for my pooch. Only giving it 4 stars because recently over the past week they have plowed the field and part of the trail cutting off the “loop”. What was once a beautiful field to photograph wildflowers and butterflies now looks more like a future construction site.

Very easy walk. Most people have dogs off leash.

Enjoyed this with friends. The Whales Tails are VT icons and a must see! There are a lot of wild flowers but do be careful of the wild parsnip.

Short trail through an open field...perfect spot for family fun or a nice dog walk

Wouldn’t really consider this a “trail” it’s just a loop from the lot to a path through the field, and literally takes moments to get there, but I’ve always driven by on the interstate & finally made it a point to go to them. Beautiful area.

You don’t need to take the trail. You can stop on the side of the Hwy to get a pic since that’s where the tails are located.
