Ticks! This area has lots of low-lying shrubs, is near a suburban interface, and is full of acorns (which mice eat). Therefore, it is prime habitat for ticks. I was there in October for one hour with my dogs. They stayed on trail 99% of the time and still I’ve picked at least 25 ticks off them today. Here’s hoping we don’t get a disease!
