Nice, with some steep stuff at the top. Varied terrain and was not overly busy even on a nice Sunday, probably due to limited parking. Great view at top that takes in Lake Champlain and NY beyond to the west and nice variety of Vt peaks looking east. Hawks regularly glided by on thermals.

Beautiful hike, one of the prettiest I have ever been on. The forest was so green and mossy. We were not able to find the airplane crash site that was near the summit. It was not marked. Cell service is very poor throughout the entire region, so calibrate your gps to work offline. Trail conditions were great.

Completed 8/8/2020. Pretty short yet intense trail. Has some quiet steep points with lots of scramble. The summit provides incredible views of the landscape.

Great hike! Took a little over 3 hours round trip. Pretty steady incline throughout with a scramble at end that is doable. Great views up top!

Great hike - we took it at a leisurely pace and it was just over 4 hours. Lots of rocks and the scramble at the end is pretty steep. I would definitely do this one again.

Fun hike with fantastic 360 views! A couple good rock scrambles near the top but otherwise a pretty easy hike. The trail gets extremely crowded as the day goes on.

this will forever be my favourite trail in VT! love the rock scramble at the end (easy and doable) and the added bonus of knowing where the plane crash is is fun to visit!

This is one of my favorite hikes in Vermont! The trail is rocky for the majority of it, with some steep sections of rock scrambling. It was also pretty muddy in parts, hiking boots definitely recommended. There forest is beautiful with a lovely section of moss and ferns, and the views are spectacular. If you are looking for the plane crash, once you hit the summit go up and over it, then after walking about a tenth of a mile you will see a small trail to the left marked by a pile of rocks, take this trail and you come very quickly to the plane crash. We have done other similar length hikes but due to how much rock scrambling is involved we were quite sore by the end. We did take snacks and eat at the top, which I recommend.

This trail was beautiful. It is rocky and got the cardio going strong. I found it difficult but my daughter in law who is in superb shape and is a runner found it moderate side of difficult. The last mile or so is a scramble and it is a challenging climb. If you love that this is for you. The view at the top is worth all the effort. Simply splendid!! If you enjoy nature, a challenge and love to hike - go for it!!
