The trail, marked with blue blazes, follows the Lye Brook Trail for just under 2 miles. At around the 1.8 mile mark, there is a spur trail to the right that leads to the falls. There will be a sign, though some have reported it can be misleading. Climbing around the falls is not recommended, as wet rocks can be very slippery.

Great hike! Pretty steep and very rocky for the first couple miles, be ready for a workout! Last 3/4 mile is downhill to waterfall. Very picturesque and good place to cool down in summer months. Began hike around 9:30-10. Relatively few people on the way in, but got busier as the day went on. People climbing all around the falls, hoping as quarantine life dissipates traffic will slow down and lessen the human erosion around the falls.

Follow the blue always! Waterfall ending is as pictured. Solid 3 hour burner. Not good at all for small kiddos.

Very rocky in some places...spent a lot of time looking down to make sure I had good footing. Muddy up toward the top of the trail but nothing too bad. The view of the falls is stunning. Small area so if you have a group...you’ll have to take turns.

Great trail. My dog loved every second of it. It was enough uphill to break a sweat and the waterfall at the end is great motivation to complete the trail. I saw people of all ages on the trail. Very rocky so you will spend a lot of time looking down.

Only car in parking lot at 9:30, had the trail and waterfall to ourselves and didn’t see anyone till halfway back... no bugs ! Have done this lovely trail at least 15 times and it’s always a pleasure!

Easy hike through mixed hardwood and then some older stands of hemlock. The trail is well marked with blue blazes and wide enough to pass people easily. Rocks in the trail mean that you do have to spend a lot of time looking down. Steady, but easy uphill to a fork at around 1.8 miles in, then a more narrow and level trail that was muddy in places down to the falls. The falls were quite full for June. Not a lot of spots for hanging out at the falls, and definitely no place to swim or get wet. I hiked this trail on a Thursday morning starting at 8:30 am. I passed 7 groups of hikers the whole time but had lots of stretches where I didn't see anyone. All-in-all a nice hike for summer - shady the whole time.
