You need a pass to get in, requiring you to be a resident of Essex. It is an easy walk, or if you want a easy hike. The well maintained, and well groomed main trail which goes around the reservoir hold views of nature and is good or birding in places. There are some smaller trails which can be accessed in places. One of the lower parking lots has a loop that pushes back into the woods and is marked. There is another small trail that runs along the road to the upper parking lot. There is a bathroom located at the upper parking lot. You can hike, walk, swim, and so on. Fun for the whole family, including your dog.

Aside from being private, this is one of my favorite small hikes in Vermont. Not too crowded, great trail, water by your side, and a nice view the entire time.

Fun trail, good footing even with freeze/thaw in the Spring. Still some ice 3/21 but not worth wearing microspikes. Lots of families and dogs, dogs can be off leash under perfect voice control.

Wonderful 3.0 mile loop with stops at outcroppings on the water. Had our 3 small children with us and took just under 2 hours.

I hike around Indian Brook all the time. If you go, don't ignore all of the little trails that take you right out to the edge of the reservoir. These off-chutes add a little something extra to this walk. My dogs love it there. Dogs can hike unteathered under voice control but must be leashed in the parking, swimming, and boat launch area. This is a flat, smooth, well-marked trail that is suitable for just about anyone. Fishing, kayaking, and swimming are permitted but no lifeguard is provided. If you have the time there are some additional trails that head away from the reservoir which can add a decent amount of length to the simple loop trail.

Dog friendly trail, lots of fishing spots and even places to camp out! Dogs on trails are off leash but need to be on leash in the parking lots. Not very muddy today but a lot of bugs out

Trail’s amazing, and no one at the front so it’s somewhat public at the moment; when I went the reservoir was frozen over, lots of people walking and cross country skiing on it.

This park is ONLY open to Essex VT residents with a valid Indian Brook Park Pass! But here’s a little secret- there is no park employee at the entrance to check passes in the late fall through early spring- so if you’re not an Essex resident you’re out of luck for the summer but...... Posted signs say Dogs are allowed OFF leash here as long as they are in voice control. They only have to be leashed in parking lots and in the picnic area. Lots of other trails besides main loop around the lake- worth checking out. Great for snowshoeing and x-country skiing in the winter.

This is another hike that I've been doing since I was a kid. It's easy Terrain with little to no Hills and use of the pond entirely around! peaceful and safe I love it here

Short, easy loop trail around reservoir. Nice in winter on snowshoes when fewer people are around. A lot if clean up going on with many downed trees due to wind storm this past summer.
