Maybe it was my GPS, but the trail head was hard to find. Once we did find it, the hike was nice. Short enough that the kids had no trouble and the views were pretty.

Drive along a dirt road for about 8 mins till you arrive at trailhead parking. This wasn't the easiest drive for my Mazda but it was able to do it.
The trails are well marked and groomed well.
The views are wonderful and you have multiple views of varying mountains. I would recommend especially if you are in the area of Stowe.

Nice hike . I would rate it easy until about the last 1/3 of a mile . Some would say that part was moderate .
It is a well maintained trail. The drive up the cc road is about 2 miles before you see the Herbert Hawkes trail sign and the parking area on the right .

For very modest effort, this trail rewards you with great and unusual views from 3 viewpoints. The north view looks up Lake Willoughby to Lake Memphramagog, Owls Head, and other Canadian peaks. The east viewpoint hangs above Willoughby, directly across from the cliffs of Pisgah. To the east are Burke with the Whites beyond. The south viewpoint looks over the forests and farms of northern Caledonia County, with a side view of the Sheffield wind towers.
