Good hike, good view. As described. Easy access and parking. It's in an area famous during the Vermont gold rush, so some prospectors still enjoy panning for gold in the nearby stream.

Great brief hike. If you loop clockwise, you start with a more vertical workout. Note that the trail has a gap (as shown on the map) in the back side where it becomes one with the river. You can cross the river and use a flat ready Talib the other side and then cross back, or challenge yourself with some rough, step retain on the west side of the river until you connect with the easily-identifiable trail head. You won't get lost, but it's good to know this before you set out. View from the vista overlooks Echo Lake in the foreground with Okemo in the distance.

Great little hike. We did this with our 4.5 and 2 year old boys. The view at the top is great overlooking the lake and a great view of Okemo. You can park for free shortly before the trailhead.
