Getting There

Trail, Sign, and open area at the bottom the hill to park bikes .

To hike to the caves the lake/marsh must be frozen, It is pretty shallow as it is a Marsh but the caves are there.

There is a sign up at the top of the hill near the bus stop near the road. The trail is maintained and open and clear all the way down to the water.

Do not recommend without micro spikes - very icy! Beautiful and lots of people skating.

Top notch quickie hike. Borrow traction from the box at the top of the hill - it’s a bit icy this time of year.

It's a cave. Best part was the all the pond hockey rinks shoveled out and the sweet figure 8! Wish I brought the skates.

Remember to bring your skates. The hike is easy and fun, but the skating is where it’s at

Walking

Cool little spot worth checking out if you're in the area. The ice is thick enough for you to walk comfortably into the entrance of the caves but NOT to the bottom of it. There's a great ice skating loop right by the caves so bring your skates! We parked in the high school parking lot.

A super short walk to a cool cave. The pond is still frozen so get over there while you still can!

HikingIcyMuddy

Enjoyed this short trek. Walked out about halfway on the ice but turned back since I didn’t have cramps, any of my other gear, and it’s 40°. I’m also inexperienced with ice hiking so I didn’t want to get too far and have complications.
