Nature tripsGreat!

This was a fairly easy trail although it is NOT accessible if someone has mobility issues. This is one of my new favorite places. This trail has it all - a forest full of beautiful (and many unique looking) trees, areas that feel like a giant rock garden, lush moss, and of course the falls. This place felt like a playground with many little places to go off the trail and check out something interesting. And what a sweet surprise to find the paintings scattered about in the trees. On March 30th the trail was mostly dry and had no snow or ice. I couldn’t resist taking my shoes off to feel the earth and dip them in the water. Not a bad way to spend a 60 degree March spring day. *HEADS UP - the ticks are already out. We encountered our first of the season on one of the paintings in the forest.* (Forgive the lack of recording. We forgot to turn it off when we got to the parking area.)*

Great short jaunt on a pretty well travelled trail. The falls are easy to access and it has a nice wading area. A couple of steep climbs to complete the loop and the footing can be slick when wet. Not a lot of bugs, but bring repellent anyway.

Easy loop trail...or up and back near the river capped off with Chaffee Falls. This is a beautiful, shaded trail that forces you to stop, listen, and inhale the beauty and sounds all around you.

Lovely little trail. Perfect for an easy loop if you’re not up for something big but want to get outside. All in shade, too. Great tiny spot to dip in the pool on the river or just relax and listen to falls. Pretty drive in and out.

Not able to access the parking area in our small, low clearance car. The gravel road is quite steep with deep holes.

Love this easy trail. Well marked, some sections have a slight elevation gain that make it a gentle hike but nothing too hard. Brings you to a beautiful waterfall. 1.5 miles round trip.

Sweet and gentle trail with.a few steep spots. Thoughtful boardwalk in run-off areas, might require a few big steps to clear the mud/keep on the trail. Early September not too many bugs but keep the repellant handy just in case. Nice run for the dogs and only a few other hikers and dogs on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Parking area not very big.

Part of the Pittsford trail network. quick ascent to two different vistas. the north vista looks out onto Pittsford and North Chittenden, and the sout vista looks down into Rutland. The south vista also has bolted rock climbing and bouldering options. The gully between the vistas leads into the ice caves area, but watch your footing as there are treacherous openings between the rocks.

This was an awesome trail! Pretty easy though in places a bit hard to get to the falls! Once you did it was beautful! Entrance to parking took a minute. GPS took us a little bit farther than we needed to go.

The whole trail was easy and fun, except for the gnats. The falls were nice and a good spot for getting wet in the river. Some little pools to dunk in. Dog friendly and not too crowded.

Secluded trail, well marked and fun overall. The waters are nice and you can get right in there. Plenty of spots to get great shots of the falls, albeit a little small. Small parking though.
