A peaceful, meandering hike along Somerset Reservoir but not along the waters’s edge so the views were obscured most of the way making this a so-so hike. Trail was easy to follow, rocky, a bit slippery & had a lot of raised tree roots. Not really a problem just a heads up that this is more than a casual stroll. It was quite buggy; something I’ve begrudgingly come to accept as a given when hiking in the summer. Several picnic areas with grills available. Kayaking also an option. Take Somerset Rd off Rt. 9 for about 10 miles of dirt road into the National Forest to the parking area.
