Once you leave the roads & start ascending (or descending) either Signal or Butterfield Mt. you will not find any evidence of a trail at all! Nothing. I had cell phone in hand & bushwhacked to stay near map on AllTrails Pro. Good news was it was almost 100% hardwood except top of Signal but that softwood was not dense. IF YOU LIKE A MARKED DEFINED TRAIL, DON’T PICK THIS ONE. I think I stayed close enough to AllTrails trail map to earn a “verified completion.” No view on top of Signal. View & interesting growth on Butterfield. Liked the sign-in bottles on both peaks.

Dirt path goes up one way. Path into the woods for the first hill just disappeared. No people around. No marking, no trail markings. Was not enjoyable at all.
