This was fun! A mix of ice and snow- mostly just slush. I’d still use crampons though. Nice view at the top too

If hiking in the snow and if you are fairly new to hiking I would rate this trail as medium/hard difficulty as there aren’t a lot of switchbacks and it’s quite steep at the end. It was worth the effort as the view was nice and the cabin at the top a great perk!

Went on Jan 24th, packed snow no spikes needed. Fun trail with a dramatic view of the lake and NY. The cabin is well maintained and a great snack spot! Moderately difficult on the easier side.

A nice moderate wooded trail. The lodge is the first good view out and then not too far from some cool rocks and the good views. Only needed spikes which was nice.

Did this yesterday for the second time. Such a great, beautiful little hike. Moderate on the easier side. Decent incline, well marked and cared for trail. The lodge which was built in 1933 is SO cool.

I would come back to this one again... we chose to loop around Rock Garden (which was more intense than we anticipated). It was a lot of fun, and super cloudy at the top.

Nice trail with very good canopy keeping the temps low. May have some difficulty with the incline if not in shape.

Beautiful year round!

My grandson and I hiked up there this past weekend. It was an amazing hike. Came down in the pouring rain. We had the time of our lives. FYI this is a hike that you Want to be in a little bit of shape for. It’s pretty rocky and steep in some spots.

Vibrant and lush forest hike. It was pretty wet when I did it even though it had been a dry couple of days, but no problems traversing as long as you're careful. Lots of steep parts, but forest is so beautiful it's well worth it.

really wet.lower level. snow about half mileup was soft. kept breaking through into underlying water. tirned around about a mile in

Nicely packed down in most places although a layer of fresh snow made it a little more difficult without snow shoes.

Great winter hike, most of it is packed down with minimal surprises. Amazing view for my hike on a clear, sunny day.

12-16 : loved this hike! Super snowy but well packed down and not very icy. Definitely gets your heart rate up, but the view from the lodge is glorious. Perfect afternoon hike!

Great hike, was windy and snowing-the shelter made for a nice place to get out of the wind to have a snack and a rest before heading back. The trail is well marked and easy to navigate. There were some beginning patches of ice right at the ledge where the ladder is, so tread easy!

Gorgeous hike. We did this in fall with the foliage so everything was doubly pretty. Highly recommend doing Clara Bow trail loop from the lodge. It is nice and quiet there.

This is trail is beautiful and really well maintained, though rocky and relatively steep. Though there is water close by and on a rainy day it could be slippery, on our dry July day it was just fine. We spent a night at Butler Lodge were able to link up with other trails for extended hiking. Butler Lodge holds ~14 people and apparently is never in threat of filling up. You don’t need to reserve ahead of time and it costs $5 per person. There is water that needs to be filtered and our dog was able to spent the night with us. Highly recommend this hike!

Beautiful and short hike. Definitely slippery on the way down if it’s wet out. A bit of a workout too. I’ll definitely be coming back to this one.
