Trail differs at end (running CCW) to avoid new construction at Olympic park. Dusty. More of a mountain bike Bs hiking trail
We did Moose Puddle first which was very pretty, easy to climb up and had amazing views. We then did Yeti on the way down and loved all the aspen tress which were changing colors. Beautiful day and wonderful hike. By the way, the total distance was actually just over 6 miles.
Nice trail went up yeti first and down moose puddle cause of mor shade later in the day.
great hike....a little fustrating to get to. when looking for it go past the Olympic museum to where they're doing construction park at the gravel lot and walk to the start of Yeti trail. it's all switch backs be prepared for a good leg work out and I would forsure start with Yeti and finish with moose puddle. the views are worth it.
Nice gradual incline; the colors are turning. This was a perfect Sunday morning hike. Would do this again.
Partly shady , well marked trail. In good shape with lovely views all the way through. Sounds of Olympic park activities took some of the quiet away but overall a peaceful outing. The Mt bikers were all courteous and shared the trail. I really enjoyed this trail. Particular interest was the cutoff to mid mountain and Armstrong which I would like to do also. Thank you to whomever takes care of this trail.
First off, this is a 6.1 mile hike rather than 5.1. Moose Puddle is 3.2 and Yeti is 2.9. That said, you'll be happy to get an extra mile. Both trails have a lot of shade till you get to the top. Yeti has more rocks thus bikes can only travel uphill. Highlights: great views of the Olympic bobsled course and gorgeous wildflowers. Inclines and declines are quite manageable and easy on the joints. Overall, a fantastic hike!
Nice hike with good elevation gain. Good mix of shaded and open space. Really beautiful views of Kimball Junction, the Canyons ski area and into park city
