Not a super well marked trailhead or exit point, but this hike was AMAZING- if you’re thinking about it- do it. You will need rappelling gear, water gear (if recent rain storms), and good shoes. There are quite a few rappels, drops that require sliding down cliff sides, and scaling mountain sides with footsteps in slick sandstone. If you can handle all of that- DO IT!! I have attached a picture of the exit point we used. You will see a trail marker of stack stones, and moderately tall tree growing out of the rock right before the steep/slanted sandstone hill. Once you start up the hill you will see handholds that you’ll use and you’ll know you’re in the right spot. See pic in hike info for an idea.

A very fun trail but we were totally unprepared. There are several repels. 1st one 30 ft, 2nd one 60ft and the others after that are more like 20ft. We did have rope and repelling gear. However we weren’t expecting the water that was at the bottom of each repel. We were walking through chest deep and knee deep water most of the way. It’s freezing cold. If we ever do it again we will bring wetsuits, warmer layers, waterproof bags and equipment, and a rope that we are ok getting wet and gross. Took us ( a 23 year old couple) 2hrs 37 minutes but we ended up free solo rock climbing up one of the walls to get out because we weren’t prepared to swim through any more cold water. I would highly recommend checking if it has rained before you go and bringing all the necessary gear.

Loved this, had such a good time. Had a day or two of rain after a record dry spell and there were Multiple pools on the trail. Maybe ten-twelve, many knee to chest deep. We had one guy in a wetsuit who was kind enough to ferry the rest of our party across the water on his shoulders. Took us three hours. Three men, a woman, two teens, a ten and seven year old. Some newbies. Needed down vests and hats and person in wetsuit wore fleece over wetsuit. Be sure to do your research before you go, check weather, watch out for flash flooding in slot canyons. Very important to know exit point. Not marked and no caron. Look left when canyon opens a bit to see man made steps up on the rock slope, little footholds cut into rock. Exit, staying left, will pop you back up to road where it is a very short walk to car at trailhead.
