One of my favorites! There is so much diversity on this trail! Last mile is tough but worth it!

Overall a really nice trail. Beautiful lake at the top, good views the whole time, easily recognizable trail. Couple spots where you have to walk in a stream, but I could avoid almost all of the water. Moderately busy at the bottom, once I passed the split for red/white pine I saw 2 people. Very empty. Trail is about 40% shaded and 60% exposed, with the final half mile or so fully in the sun and it’s the steepest part. It was 3 hours round trip for me. Great hike.

Amazing day! Started early, hammocks by noon enjoying the lake, and down by dinner! We did see a moose too!

One of the most (lengthy) beautiful hikes ive ever done!! Definitely recommend backpacking and camping overnight. The water was such a pretty teal color. Not many people on this trail vs Red Pine. It was mostly steady throughout, with an incline at the last mile.

I did this hike yesterday, July 28. In my opinion it was better than red pine. Even though it is longer, it is less crowded and an extra mile after 4 miles of hiking is hardly noticed. It has lots of water crossing on the trail, but nothing too muddy, and the trail varies enough just to keep it interesting. Wildflowers are awesome right now! I was worried the lake scenery wouldn't be as pretty, but I think it's prettier than red pine!

Such a fun hike! Our littles 5 & 8 loved it too. Plenty of shade and places to rest. A little rocky and muddy at times but fine to pass through. We backpacked in and camped and it was perfect. We went up in the evening and left in the morning. Take bug spray!

incredible hike, super diverse terrain. The end makes you earn it, but the treat is beautiful. Bring bug spray if it’s not sunny!

This hike is magical. From the forest that surrounds you most of the way, to the blooming wildflowers, hidden meadows, water trickling everywhere, and wildlife sprinting past. I saw a buck, marmot and other little creatures. And the lake is an ethereal green. Very rocky and lots of mud along the way, but completely worth it. It wasn’t as hard as I remembered it...I think a good breakfast is the key :)

Stellar hike. It's not that steep, pretty even throughout, does get a bit steeper before the boulder field and lake. That weird noise at the lake is water!

Loved this trail. Not a lot of humans. Wild flowers were beautiful and so was the lake. The last mile is steep. Lots of bugs whenever we stopped to rest on the trail...but we hung out by the lake for an hour and weren’t bothered by any. It is a rocky trail for most of it...but you go through pine trees and meadows and we loved the variety.

Great hike to White Pine today. Not many people once you take the fork to White Pine. I surprised at how much water and mud were on the trail. It was easy to walk around though.

If you like barely uphill easy hiking 4x4 roads, this ones for you! Definitely not my favorite but a good beginner type trail.

Go early or don’t go. I started at 5:30am on a Sunday morning and didn’t see too many people on the way up. However on the way down around 9:00am I saw more people then I’ve ever seen on a hiking trail in my life.
