Easy decent views. Nothing overly exciting or unique.

Not great in winter - snow and ice makes it hard (and dangerous) to climb up and down the rock. Otherwise, amazing views! Short scramble up.

This was a fun hike, and perfect place to stop and lunch. Had a lot of fun hopping from rock to rock, until we landed on the "whale" . You can get a decent view of Upheaval Dome.

Nice and short for a great view.

I just didn’t see the appeal for the views offered. It was mediocre at best.

Moderately easy (some moderately steep slick rock inclines) - but doable for family and kids. Pretty and fun little spot. Great views from top of the whale.

A short fun trail up a slick rock hill that affords great views. All should do.

Great for the kids. Nice views. My 8 year old loved it.

Totally fun for the kids.
Great first starter for scrambling for kids or adults.
I enjoyed the view, but there were so many kids on this particular trail (whale rock seemed to get the families here), that it was not quiet and peaceful. I saw many families with their Junior Ranger packets, so perhaps this is on the tour book for them.

Nice short easy hike to the top of slickrock ridge that feels like you are walking on the back of a large whale. Nice views from the top

Great trail for kids and adults alike. There are several spots where you have to lean forward going up on the slick rock etc., but otherwise it's a great view at the top. I wouldn't rate it exactly easy. Some people will have trouble going up and down the inclined sections. Others, it's just a walk in the park.

Quick and easy

I would rate this easy unless it was raining. Short hike that my young kids loved. It really feels like your climbing on the back of a rock whale and there's a decent view around at the top.

Fun, short trail that offers 360 degree views of Canyonlands.

It's a fun short hike with a few bouldering opportunities. Some neat views of Canyonlands from the top of the "whale."

Short fun hike. This trail gets almost no traffic, which is weird to me. Its a fun quick trail. You get to climb up onto whale rock and you can see amazing 360 degree panoramas of the entire canyonlands. It's quite amazing and yet very few people take this trail. It is an easy trail and less than a mile, so it goes fast. We climbed to the top, enjoyed the gorgeous views and meditated. It was amazing. Didn't see a single soul. Then we went to delicate arch which is had THOUSANDS of people (memorial day weekend), yet this trail had NOBODY! So thats awesome! This is a great, easy little treasure.
