We were glad we did this hike in winter with no rain
and no snow as there is a lot of relatively steep slick rock to negotiate. As noted by others some cairns are difficult to locate but you can’t get lost.
The falls at the bottom of the trail are freezing so maybe good for a dip if they ever warm up. You get some good views over the desolate arid landscape but nothing too spectacular.
The trailhead is large so no worries about planning to do the trail only to find no parking space. The road from Escalante to the trailhead is amazing / scary depending on your attitude to drop offs - at one stage it goes along the ridge with steep steep drop offs on either side and NO railings.
