This is a short hike over slickrock with cairns to show the way. Farther along the trail shows better when the rock gives way to soil. The views right from the trail register are stunning and varied with much variety of geological formations and rocks. The falls are cool with a sort of oasis appeal along the creek. Be sure to take a little water because the rocks and the climb will bring a little thirst. There are no fees for this hike.

Bring a swimsuit and plenty of water. Enjoy the view on the way down, as you’ll be trying to get the hike over with on the way up.

Good hike with a lot to see & do along the trail. Make sure to continue above the first waterfall & don’t forget your swimsuits. We met some great people & had a blast cliff jumping. Steep going down & steep going back up but overall one of my favorite hikes in the area.

Pretty straight forward. Lots of cairns. Climb back out is pretty brutal with no shade, but plenty of good footing. My goodness, though, is the water beautiful! Make sure you don’t stop at the first water feature you see. It’s amazing, but then it gets even better right behind it! What an oasis.

I’m enjoyed the hike. I prefer easier leisure hikes. This one was hard because of the steep descent and ascent. It felt much longer than 2 miles. The water was a nice relief though! Probably about 55 degree water on a warm 80 degree day.

Hiked to the top of the falls - a great swimming hole on a hot day! The trailhead wasn't well marked off of highway 12 like the lower falls trail was, so we used the AllTrails map and our location to find the right turn out. Like many other mentioned, steep descent on rock that would be difficult to navigate if it weren't for the cairns (not to mention little to no shade). The views on your way down are incredible! The first set of pools at the top of the falls were great but we were definitely more impressed with the second pool just beyond the first. It featured a smaller waterfall and a short cliff to jump from into the chilly (refreshing) water below. Flat surface nearby if you wanted to set up camp for an afternoon of swimming or sun bathing.

Hike in all downhill. Hike out all uphill. The hike out was rough. Probably not worth the few pools and small waterfall destination.

The climb back out is incredibly steep, so just keep that in mind!

This is a great trail, with very little traffic. Starting this is crazy! It's a steep walk down some slick rock and you need to follow the cairns. We went to the top of the falls and enjoyed the pools at the top of the falls. Just make sure you turn around on the way down to make sure you can retrace your steps and you can see the cairns on the rock.

Now is the time to go! I went here on 2/28. No one had signed the registry since 2/24. I didn’t see anyone for 2 hours. It was heavenly. It’s not well marked at the beginning. It starts out with about 200 foot decline of rock face to climb down but it’s not hard. Go towards your right and you’ll see a dirt path at the bottom. There are cairns throughout. Average time without stopping is probably about an hour.

Beautiful views when you get to the falls. After seeing the top of the falls it’s worth backtracking a kitty and taking the left trail at the split and going to the bottom of the falls. The climb back up to parking is...well a real climb.

Excellent hiking starting with slickrock Navajo Sandstone bedrock on a steep decent, leveling before a short drop to the falls elevation. Prior to this last decent, watch for the fork that will take you to the upper area to view the drop off and beautiful pools. Short and easy to track the whole distance, but exposed for most of the hike so be prepared.

The trail hear was pretty confusing to find without the all trails map. You have to start by going down the side of the mountain. Great hike for anyone looking to do something short yet moderate. The different rock formations are gorgeous. There is no shade and lots of wind throughout the entire hike. If you walk past it he waterfall there is a very cool sand pit.

Great hike be sure to hike to the top and bottom of the falls. Glad it was only a mile back up. Steep.. Sticks helped a bunch. The upper falls are as good as The lower falls But the hike in was much prettier than the Upper Falls

Unmarked and very very technical. Scary almost because many times we had no idea where the trail was— and no one around us. I’d call this ADVANCED by far.

Great hike. Beautiful. The beginning is straight down sick rocks. We had the dog and it went well. Slow and steady. The trailhead is not marked well. So download the map on here to help you. Also the straight down is nice. The fall is beautiful. Walking back into it further there are pretty shallow pools. A couple had a bunch of tadpoles. Even further up is a small cliff dive with a deep pool. Be prepared for cold water. Very worth it. But save enough gas for the way back up. Same. Slow and steady.
