Upheaval Canyon Trail is a 7.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Moab, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and backpacking and is best used from March until November.

This trail is experiencing full or partial closure due to COVID-19. Please see the open trails nearby for alternate hiking options. From the 4WD White Rim Road pullout at Upheaval Bottom, the Upheaval Canyon Trail heads through a wide, sandy wash. Follow the wash for the length of this trail. Occasional cairns directing you out of the wash mark shortcuts around obstacles. Keep an eye out for a natural stone arch high on the north side of the trail about 0.5-mile from the trailhead. The Upheaval Canyon Trail ends after 3.8 miles at the junction with the southern half of the Syncline Loop Trail.

Anyone know if this (or any) trail is accessible via the Green River? We're paddling it this summer and am looking for good side/day hikes. We did the saddle of Bow Knot Bend a few years ago...thanks!

Trail and the rock scrambling was awesome! Went in July 2018 and the heat was intense! Saw a big horned ram at the bottom. No people at all either so that was a plus
