The initial climb up Michigan City road is a rocky, steady incline with little shade but you pass an old mine which is pretty cool. After you pass the mine you can see old building foundations. It's a steady incline but a bit rocky, lots and lots of wildflowers. Make sure to stay right at the fork onto Twin lakes Pass about a quarter mile after the mine or you'll end up at Davenport Hill. Right before you crest the hill to the lake, it really opens up into a gorgeous meadow and a stream. The views from above the lake are stunning! I only ran into a few people both times I've done this trail.
