I enjoyed the trail, but it's definitely made for biking. It's some great country with lots of old petrified wood, but I was hoping for better views over the edge of the mesa. From looking at the maps afterwards, it looks like I didn't take a branch or two that might have got me closer to the edge. I rated it 3 star for hiking, but I would definitely give it 5 for biking. That place is a huge playground.

Rough, little to no elevation change. Slick rock I think not more like ridged rock. Not much flow at all. It is one of a kind riding tho as far as lots of big rocks!

From reading the descriptions to what was actually here, I found some things unexpected. There was either a lot of flow I missed, or it just wasn't there, tons of odd rock climb sprints and technical short climbs and descents. Headed outward is way more fun than in if you're on a long travel. scenery wise: awesome! trail conditions: awesome! riding on and around petrified trees: awesome. I wouldn't skip this

Great intermediate flowing mountain biking trail. Did it in early 2000s after wildfire which exposed expansive petrified forest, including a 6 ft diameter log you could crawl thru! Likely most is hidden with vegetation now but keep your eyes open for beautiful desert wildflowers in spring, and perhaps a petrified tree or two. Best in spring, fall, winter. Too hot in summer (it’s southern Utah y’all).

Great trail with some magnificent views. The entire circumferential loop is closer to 10.5 miles according to Gaia.

Great run. Paint cans are at junctions. Follow the cairns along the trail. Usually pretty easy to follow. Great views the whole way. Goes well with chips and salsa afterwards.

Definitely my favorite ride while staying out here in Hurricane for the week. I loved this trail! Technical but not as hard as gooseberry. Was able to stay on my bike almost the whole time unlike gooseberry where i had to hop off often. Just technical enough here. Flat with no climbing but flowy and fun. Great intermediate trail. Gorgeous views. Access was maybe 5+ miles off main hwy near hurricane. Trail was well marked w cairns. Just look around and you’ll see them.

My favorite Mtn biking trail on our weeklong vacation to St George. Wasn’t too technical for my intermediate skills I had to get off my bike a lot riding gooseberry Mesa. This trail I was able to stay on almost the whole time. Awesome rock, flowy trail and well marked w cairns along way. Beautiful views. Just so much fun! It starts out on rock area- just look for the cairn.
