This trail is a 3.3 mile out and back trail. It is an easy trail used year round and is used for hiking. The trailhead is up by the old airport and heads south around the bluff. It is a mile to the old quarry, but the trail continues another .6 mile past if you choose to continue. There are nice views as you walk out onto the point.

I had a meeting get canceled so I went out for a walk on the Temple Quarry Trail. Easy to walk, not really a hiking trail. Saw a fox at the end, we just stood and stared at each other for quite a while. Very relaxing.

We did this trail the day after Thanksgiving with our group of about 14 people ranging in age from two years old to 69 years old.
It is a fairly simple Trail, there is an uphill portion right after you leave the trailhead which includes hiking up some dirt stairs. Once you get past that it's a pretty level hike out to the point where you have some great views over some farmland and Southgate golf course.
The actual quarry area is about 1.1 miles in, but the trail does continue for about another half mile after that. Our group turned around after the quarry and headed back. We ran into three or four other families again varying ages but it was a very nice get out and stretch your legs hike.
