Great easy hike with Mountain views and some wildlife. A little muddy on certain parts due to the snow melt.

Nice views, trail is moderate, rocky in spots. Most of the trail is free of snow but there are a few spots of packed, icy snow.

A perfect evening, afterwork hike. Full sun, several trail options. All trails approach the "Summit," although this elevation point is not marked clearly on the site map. Lots of wildflowers and lots of mountain bikers, but still peaceful. A good dry mountain hike with easy footing and great views, when you don't have a full day to spare.

Nice trail . Well marked . Elevation easy climb. Courteous bikers. Wildflowers just coming into bloom. Highway noise not noticeable. Not much shade so mid day not advised.

Not terrible. Not great. Honestly, the beauty is at the start by the creek. That said, it's a well marked and the few bikers we came across were all super polite. The highway noise is present but not terrible. You walk around one bend and hear,,, nothing. It makes you appreciate the quiet. Still a nice morning hike that's easy to access.

Good for exercising or dirt bikes. Not great for “getting away from it all”, as you are next to the highway for most of it, and exposed to loud highway noise for the duration. You’re also between two housing developments, so it feels like you’re in folks backyards the whole time. Trail was well-maintained, rocky, with few muddy spots. Several interpretative signs and maps were posted throughout. It was cloudy when we did it, but plan for no shade and full exposure to wind, rain, snow, and sun. Wish we would have spent our time on another trail.

First to Review

This is along the Swaner Preserve near Kimball Junction. A beautiful conservation area that is right in the middle of private land and that runs along I80. The trail is well maintained and used frequently, so very easy to find, even in the winter. Despite the proximity of the freeway, the trail itself sees light traffic.
