Snowbasin Needles Trail is a 15.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Ogden, Utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Snowbasin - Needles trail is the main artery which divides into many smaller trails - Needles trail #1 (Each trail has a designated number) starts at the Snowbasin Resort and one can climb all the way to the Needles Lodge 7,000 ft of elevation change. Trails transecting from Needles including: Maples #13; Green Pond Loop #11; Porcupine #3; Sunshine #6; Last Chance loop #10; Elk Ridge 9; Becker #8; Moonshine Trees #2; Middle Bowl #7; Philpot #4; Hiking beyond the bike trail include Strawberry Trail, Ridge Trail and John Paul Trail.
Attention horse friends: Horses not allowed on the trail. Snow basin resort security officer stopped us and said we were not allowed on this trail. Only on the dirt road that goes up the mountain. Which is all rock. If hiking though it looked really pretty.

Very demanding physically, but rewarded by spectacular views.
