The trail itself is fairly droll with not much to look at. There's a lot of close trees, shrubs, and bushes close to the path, which is lower than most of the landscape for much of the trek. So there's not much of a view until the very end where the trail dumps out out at the northern most end of Snow Canyon State Park. That turnaround point offers arguably the best view of the park you could possibly ask for. For all you photographers out there, the trail is easily marked and followed, so if you're willing to hike in the dark then the shots you'll get at sunrise will be a just reward.

This trail is a whole lot of nothing until it isn’t. You will feel like you’re on a horse path, no views at all. Then when you reach the end, the view of Snow Canyon is incredible! Enjoyable overall and worth it. Not too much elevation gain. Very lightly trafficked when we visited

Great hike with really awesome views! Parking lot is big, I came here once on a Saturday afternoon after some rain and snow and it was muddy but super pretty, then came a few days after without the mud and wetness, still pretty. Love this trail, probably one with one of the best views I've seen in St George.

Off trail scramble from red mountain trailhead to read mountain. Very steep decent at the end. The whole thing is off trail. Very difficult on knees.

Most of this trail is rather dull, not much for views until you make it to the canyon overlook. The view is worth the trip. The trail varies between soft sand and what feels like you're hiking on a extremely rocky jeep trail, esp. the first mile. I ended up catching a better way back that avoided most of the rock crawl.

We hit it right at sunset- BEAUTIFUL and my favorite trail in this area. Perfect at sunset because it’s easier going down in the dark (fences are helpful) than up

This is a pretty heavily trafficked trail so prepare for company. It is extremely rocky for 2/3 of the trail so bring shoes with a thick sole. There is a small and gradual incline on the way up. There isn't much to see until the end, but the view is so worth it.

Beautiful hike. Took us 2 hours total not including time for photos. The view is beautiful but faces east so the best time of day is either sunrise or go a lot later like 4pm. From 8am-4pm the sun will be glaring on the view and your photos won’t be as nice.

If you’re thinking about doing this trail, just do it! The views were amazing and I had it all to myself 2/1/21. The trail was a mix of rocky, muddy, and snow that made it a little more of a workout so I would recommend good hiking shoes. The trail is easy to follow with many options for lookouts at the top.
