Great free place to Camp near Zion just make sure to be a half mile away from grafton rd. You will be safe if u camp somewhere that looks like someone has been there before. We camped here (37.1435820, -113.0575434).

Rugged and rutted from muddy winter. Could not get farther up the road than a mile from the Zion side before calling it quits even with a 4WD JEEP. Gorgeous views if only it were traverse able

There is some pretty scenery looking into Zion, the back side of Eagle Crag, but this isn’t an off road trail. It’s a dirt road from Apple Valley to Rockville that is a shortcut from driving through Hurricane. The northern end is steep and a little rutted, but any care driven carefully could make it. Signs say the road is impassible when wet and I can’t comment on that, it was bone dry the day we drove it.

This is a great trail to get from Apple Valley to Rockville. It’s only 9 miles in one direction, and running it from the South to the North gives the best views of Zion. Most of the trail is nicely graded dirt road but the last mile and a half before Grafton Road was pretty bumpy and might require 4wd if running from North to South.

Rough and steep for the first mile heading south and then it is pretty smooth. Fun ride with beautiful overlooks. Plenty of spur trails that are tougher for some fun along the way.

Amazing view. Easy trail. Could be a bit bumpy in the beginning. There are two mesa that require some more off road capability vehicle. The main road is really flat and easy. Did it after Zion national park. Great view.

Beautiful camping spot with great views and soft sand for tents. Road is a little rough, has large ruts and some rocks, however with some off-road experience and going slow could make it in most cars. Once you reach the top of the butte the road is groomed and much better. Drove without problems in a RAV4.

Fun off road trail for trucks or all-terrain vehicles. There are numerous side routes that are narrow for a full-size truck but do-able. Main road was a piece of cake, a sedan could make it, but still fun! I would recommend for a quick afternoon ride.

Really Liked This Trail. We went up a section with a Very Steep and Very Rocky Incline. Thankfully I had just gotten a Lift, Beefier Suspension and 32's. Slapped my vehicle in 4LO and had some fun!! And we pulled off the trail for the night for some remote camping after taking in the views. Super Fresh Air after a short rain made it all the more enjoyable. And VERY FEW tourists. Thumbs Up !!

It's along a dirt road so be ready for a dirt bath every time someone drives by! It has beautiful view points all along the trail.

First to Review

The north end of this trail starts in Rockville off of Hwy 9. Cross the Virgin River and after you turn off the Grafton road, the trail get rough and steep. Once you get on top of the ridge, the road improves dramatically. Nice view of Zion at the top of the ridge..
