Slide Canyon Trail is a 9.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Provo, Utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

Slide Canyon is the primary access to the “Y” Monument, and it is heavily used by the local community. At the top of the “Y”, the trail becomes a narrow single track trail that traverses varied terrain. After 3.4 miles, the trail connects in with the Slate Canyon trail #061. The Slide Canyon trail continues 1.1 miles to connect with Squaw Peak Road.

I started at the "Y" trailhead parking lot ant took the BST north into the park. The trail was moderately steep but lots of loose rock to manage both up and down the trail.

The trail climbs steeply at the beginning but switchback take some of the sting out of the steepness. Around the middle of the hike you enter trees and lush undergrowth that is quick pretty. At the upper end of the trail you break out of the trees and enjoy view of the surrounding peaks
