Agreeing with the other poster about this trails rating. Once you cross the river, around the bend there is a rough spot with a lot of boulders. We went while it was wet, and there was no way for us to make it without mud tires. 3 of the 4 keeps behind us turned around and went another route. It is a beautiful, rocky ride. Very heavily travelled and several with trailers beyond where they shouldn’t have been. Most everyone is courteous.

started around 8 am. Road up to the trail is rough, so dont go without the proper vehicle. On the way up, we only ran into one jeep. Hike up is fine, not too tough but nothing special. The fall scenery once you get to the lake is amazing though. ATVs on the way back down around 1030 ish, but not too bad.

A few years ago this was a great trail. The Rock Crawlers have chewed it up so bad ATVs now get beaten up trying to get over the large boulders . Makes a good hiking trail but we (ATV'S) lost a good trail from misuse. It was to be a 40 inch only but managers didn't do a good job of management.

This trail is misrepresented by All Trails. It's not easy, especially the first ~1/4 mile and it's pretty heavily trafficked, not moderately trafficked. Don't get me wrong; it's a blast though. Lake is fun. Kiddos like to catch salamanders there.

Great trail. Takes about 3 hours. Boulder section at beginning is the toughest part, but pretty easy to get through. Beautiful views and a lot of fun. There is a crap ton of ATVs on the trail though, so in a Jeep or truck, it gets annoying.

I really thought this would be an actual lake but it's not kinda disappointed

We went at the end of October to avoid to ATV's. I'm sure they appreciated that as well. The ATV trail runs around the perimeter of the lake making the lake look like a mud puddle. But because we went during the cold season it was quiet and the view was beautiful. The winter trees and fallen leaves made up for it. We also saw several deer.

This is a fun trail to drive in a modified Jeep or truck. Lots of motorcycles and ATVs also. There is a boulder section just up from the trailhead that is the toughest part of the trail. Trail works its way up the draw in the shade most of the time. Will occasionally see a moose at the lake. Lake is a gross green-brown color, from all the ATVs. Fun family drive!
