off road driving
Drove the Salt Valley Road on a quick trip through Arches on our way to Las Vegas. This is a beautiful valley, just be sure to stay on the road, the sand gets very deep an treacherous.
Don't turn onto the 4x4 roads unless your looking for some trouble. Most trails off this road are moderate to difficult so watch out! Tons of fun though!
Took this road to the Tower Arch parking lot. It was a very washboard road that is ok for passenger cars if if hasn't rained recently. Check with the rangers before attempting if it has rained withing a couple of days. Just make sure you stay on the Salt Valley Road and don't get on the 4X4 roads that are clearly marked.
The Salt Valley Road breaks off the main Arches Hwy between The Sand Dune Arch and The Skyline Arch. It goes down into Salt Valley and turns north to the northwest boundary of the Park. If you go to Tower Arch, you will go on the Salt Valley Road, whether you use the hiking trail or the 4X4 road. Good views of Klondike Bluffs on this road
