Update: Sabrina, the Upper Stillwater CG hostess, called and said the Rock Creek Trail was now open - very nice lady!

We were going to hike this trail (6/17) b/c it is one of our favorites, but when we got there and attempted to get to the trailhead, the gate was locked with a ‘Trail Closed’ sign - the very nice hostess at Upper Stillwater CG said that there were 14 men up there clearing the trail from the late winter/wet spring that we had, and that it should be open this weekend - LOTS of water - I’ve never seen so much water flowing over the dam! We decided to hike the lower trail and went about halfway to Yellow Pine CG and found a beautiful camp site to test some new equipment - trail was pretty wet and muddy - no bugs, which was weird for here - be cautious in looking for a campsite as there are a lot of dead timbers falling - beautiful place - cheers!
