Really great hike, well worth it. Great views and I saw bighorn sheep. Veteran's Day weekend, recent weather was cold, so I can't believe there weren't many people out on this holiday weekend when it's sunny and 60F. There was a couple of places that I got off trail, no big deal. With a 600 foot drop on one side and a rock wall on the other side, you're not going to get off track far enough to matter. Bring water. This area is so dry that it sucks the water right out of you. Even though it was 60F out, having a hydration pack with 2.5 liters of water was really good to have. I'm 50 years old and not in that great of shape, so I wouldn't call this hike 'Hard', I'd call it 'Moderate'. If you're going to continue on the Navajo Knobs (which I didn't do), I'd call THAT hike hard.

The views from the top are amazing! This trail was easy to follow as long as you follow though cairns. We went early in the morning and it was so peaceful, we basically had the trail to ourselves

Great trail but do yourself a favor and continue on to Navajo Knobs (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/navajo-knobs-trail). It will be exhausting, but so worth it.

Not a single hiker on this trail. At the top added my rock to the monument. Fantastic views. I completed this hike two weeks ago. There was afternoon rainstorms but nothing to deter me. The wet rock sparkled and the raindrops were a welcome refreshing shower.

Great trail, well marked, not that tough. It’s just all uphill. Some amazing views at the top, don’t miss it.

Fun hike, wanted to do the whole Navajo knobs but didn’t have time and it was starting to rain. Elevation gain pretty much every step of the way. No shade so plan accordingly. Great views of the natural bridge and overlooks. Would go back without a doubt.

A nice little hike with great views along the way and at the end. I definitely wouldn't call it hard, so even if you're not feeling up for a major adventure, don't get dissuaded by the rating here. We got caught by a thunderstorm just as we made it to the Rim Overlook, so we called it a day and headed back down instead of continuing to the Navajo Knobs. Still a good hike - highly recommended.

A steady climb nearly all the way to overlook. Pack a lunch to enjoy at the overlook, which features impressive views down into Fruita, orchards, and visitor center. A few more strategically placed rock cairns would be appreciated; we briefly lost the trail several times. Be sure to take (and drink) plenty of water, wear sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat, and wear hiking boots for traction and ankle support. Then treat yourself to PIE at Gifford House afterwards!

Incredible views. Lots of cairns to follow. Check out the view of Hickman Bridge on the way.

Quiet and peaceful on this Wednesday afternoon.

Beautiful hike with a scenic surrounding everywhere you are. The path is a little less defined in some places so keep an eye out for cairns to stay on the path. It is very exposed so plan out your water and time of hiking carefully. It is not a hard hike, it is perfectly moderate and the incline is very doable.

Fairly easy trail with some elevation- beautiful views and interesting perspectives on several canyons. we continued to the Navejo Knobs trail which was an additional 7 kms and offered spectacular panoramic views at much higher elevation. If you can manage the extra time and elevation the additional views are well worth the effort!

Very well-cairned trail (as of early May 2018) that starts to get scenic a mile or so in. Should really be rated moderate, as none of the incline is very steep and the overall gain/length is quite...moderate. Definitely bring plenty of water in summer, as the entire hike is very exposed.

A steady uphill hike, difficult to follow in some spots. On the way to the viewpoint you get great views of Hickman Bridge and Pectol Pyramid. The fold rises like the bow of ship and take note of the black volcanic rocks that add a touch of the surreal to the trail. The landscape and vistas won't disappoint.

Steady incline and well marked with cairns. Great views along the way & educational too! We arrived early, around 9 on a Saturday, and beat the traffic. We took our time with healthy stops for pics & rest; made it back down, passing talkative groups and couples, to the then full parking lot at 1130.

Stunning views with an option to extend your hike as far out and back toward Navajo knobs as you want. Hard work uphill and easy coming down. Took us 1 hour to get from bottom to the turn around going at a quick pace. Follow cairns and other hikers footprints in the sand to make your way. Perfect weather in late September but I imagine this would be a scorcher in the summer.

We were there today with our kids (3 and 5). For the older was it a good hike and the length was ok (the younger was as expected the most time on our shoulders). Great trail with breathtaking view. Bring with you enough wather to drink.

Great mid distance hike with a great view of Fruita. In seasons other that winter it's a green oasis in the middle of the desert. This hike also features a view of Hickman Arch from above. The trails winds in and out of several canyons and climbs steadily. If you are not used to the 5,300-6,300 ft elevation it can be a difficult hike. Be sure to keep an eye out for Deseret Bighorn Sheep. They are in the area. Also saw wild turkeys near the trailhead on the road.

I'll call it moderate rather than hard. Great hike with great views all the way.

Great hike for a spring afternoon. Trail is well marked, challenging at time, and has great views.

Beautiful ridge, mountain and valley views are offered on this hike, but you'll have to work for them. At 2.3 miles to the rim overlook, the mileage is easy but you gain 1100 feet and are starting at a high elevation. Heart rate can climb in a hurry. Find a comfortable pace. Bring lots of water and sunscreen because there is very little shade.
