Running

First half you run a mild grade following a brook. It’s perfect. Then you hit dog lake for a nice relaxing break. The hike up Reynolds is steep but the views are unbelievable.

Hiked up to Raymond’s peak via dog lake. The last scramble is .4 miles of nearly overgrown trail opening up into some exposed switchbacks that are easily slipped on. Views are worth it, and it’s a rewarding trail overall! Prepare for lots of traffic on the weekends and be wary of mountain bikers coming up on you fast. I would put this on the more difficult side of moderate. The flowers up top were a nice touch!

I’ve hiked to Dog Lake countless times without ever taking this relatively short (but quite steep) jaunt up to Reynolds Peak. Glad I finally did. The view of Big Cottonwood, Mount Raymond, and Gobbler’s Knob is spectacular. And, there are some pretty sunflowers on the top right now.

One of the most beautiful peak, forever view, the last part if trail is not very clear, if it is right direction, you will be on the trail soon.

!!! NEED SNOWSHOES !!! Post-holing 4-5” and even up to my waist on 3 occasions. Only made it about 1 mile up Butler Fork before I turned around. Awful, awful time. I hate myself for leaving the snowshoes in the car.

Half mud half snow. I set out too late and it got dark. Ran into moose, possibly(it was dark). Definitely some elk and dear.

First part to dog lake isn’t the most exciting, from dog lake to the peak is steep, but doable. Great views at the top.

Trail gets sorta confusing at points, but that’s why you have this app. Great views at the top, and saw a bunch of deer on the way down, nice outing.

Beautiful trail and a gorgeous view from the top. It was a bit overgrown on the steep part past dog lake but not terrible

Absolutely stunning views at the top. Lots of flies and a bit overgrown on the trail right after dog lake. But totally worth it for those views and the wildflowers along the way.

a fairly short hike that will be easy for fit hikers. the 2.5 mi walk to dog lake climbs gently. from the lake to the peak it is steep, but not crazy steep, and only for about 10 mins walking time and maybe 700' of elevation gain. the summit views are really good.

There’s a decent amount of incline from the trail head to Dog Lake and it is very steep from the lake to the top but definitely worth it! The last bit of trail after the lake is a little overgrown but the trail is easy to follow and the views are beautiful. Hardly any snow left at the top and a completely dry trail.

Great hike! The trail has a pretty constant incline up till you hit the lake. The climb from dog lake to the peak is very steep, but there is no more snow and the trail is dry—amazing view at the top that’s well worth the effort!

Went Memorial Day weekend and there was still a good amount of snow. Didn’t make it all the way to the Peak, turned around at Dog Lake. I didn’t use spikes or snow shoes and it was slow going.

Great views at the top! Just awesome in the winter. Shocked I was the only one up there on a Saturday afternoon. You will see ski tracks going off the top...amazing. The last half mile deserves snowshoes and is strenuous in the winter. You could use either micro spikes or snowshoes for the first couple miles depending on how packed the trail is.

Almost missed the trail, but I pulled out my AllTrails app and got back on track to make it up to the peak. I was the only one on this trail and the only one on the peak. I started my hike at 6:30 am to avoid the crowds, and I had the mountain all to myself. There was a bit of snow on parts of the trail, but nothing that should stop anyone from trying this one out.
