I love this walk. Being surrounded by the four houses flowers, nature all around you. At certain points you have an overview of the city.

We visited Red Butte Gardens on Arbor Day with free admission. We took the trail up to the Stone House Historic site and then attempted the small loop, but found that several of the trails that complete the loop back were closed for re-vegetation and we had to back-track to the same trail we took up. Nice view over the University of Utah and Salt Lake City and the Gardens are very pretty, we lucked out with timing and most of the garden was in bloom. The hike itself was easy, but very hot in the afternoon sun with little to no shade along the trail. I would suggest going on the trail earlier in the day or late afternoon to avoid the intensity of the mid-day sun. The gardens were the highlight rather than the hike most due to the lack of shade and diversity in the trail.
