Short and sweet. Great quick hike, make sure you enjoy the views and nature. Not many people which is great too

There isn’t really an actual overlook spot so we kind of had to improvise. It is a super pretty hike though!

Not sure how I felt about this one. Will have to possibly try it again without the pups. Came on a day when it was way too hot for them and their feet couldn’t handle the sand. Not much shade at all. Parking is weird here and Its not clear if a fee needs to be paid. Upon pulling up there is a closed gate so we walked off to the side where there looked to be other trail heads and tried to walk what I thought was the mapped trail but it took us to a private property gate 5 minutes in.

Saw a snake just off the paved gravel trail, FYI. Can be steep downhill in some parts, but it was BEAUTIFUL. Would recommend.

Parking is free after 8 but apparently you have to have a U permit or it’s $17 normally?! Maybe other people know where to park. The trail was really pretty at dusk and there are lots of paths to come back and do.

Went on this hike nine months pregnant to try & kick start labor. Supper simple gets your heart pumping not much to see but it was a great hike!

Great, beautiful hike, but careful of certain areas where the trail's given out and you need to climb over some rocks to get back to the trail.

Trail itself is fine, very easy. But there are no trail markers anywhere and so many trails it is easy to get lost.

Easy trail. Best in the morning before sunrise makes it too hot.

Good, easy trail. Is steep and VERY narrow in parts. The fox tails were a bit overwhelming this time of year so make sure to check your dogs carefully!

This is the closest to what trail I actually did. I started off on the southern side of the natural history museum and headed up the trail that leads into the canyon. It starts off a bit steep which is tricky in the ice and snow. Then I saw a herd of elk on a ridge. It was pretty amazing. The trail exits into the parking area on the northern side of the Red Butte concert venue.

Good morning exercise hike route. We like to meander the hillside off Red Butte Canyon Rd, go over the top, and continue down and around past the Natural History Museum.
