Take I-215 south until you reach the 3900 South exit. Take a left at the top of the exit ramp and cross over I-215 heading east. At Wasatch Boulevard take a left and head north 1 block to the light at 3800 South. Take a right on 3800 South and head east through residential neighborhoods for approximately a mile before arriving at fee station. The trailhead is .7 miles past the fee station on the north side of the road.

Went to snowshoe rattlesnake gulch up to pipeline the first week of January but found we didn’t need snowshoes and ended up hiking it instead. Trail was a little icy in some places but was packed down really nicely. Overall great conditions. If you don’t like ice, I’d recommend some grips or small crampons on your shoes this time of year but it is completely doable in normal shoes.

Just completed this trail and would suggest bringing some snow spikes. Nice trail when you want to finish a trail in under two hours but still want a sweat.

Lost Black Right Hand Wool Glove jvyeknom@gmail.com if found. Thanks 12-7-2019 9am There was about 15 or so people on the trail, some doggies, and one biker. Pretty icy for the first 2/3 of the hike. I didn't use my spikes on the way up but I kept thinking I should stop and put them on. On the way back down I most definitely put my spikes on. Once you get to the flat part of the hike the snow and ice is melted and spikes weren't needed. Overall a good hike nothing to crazy but a good way to get above the haze and get some fresh air. Really good view of the valley and only about an hour in and out if your just walking.

Snow is packed, but not icy. It was a beautiful hike to the lookout today, though clouds obscured most of the view.

For runners, first quarter mile is an absolute heart breaker. after you merge onto pipeline trail it's a breeze. watch out for rocky parts coming down. no snow today. not muddy. perfect condition. gets dark by 5pm ish

Trail conditions are still great. First .7 miles are an incline but the rest is a breeze.

Great hike this time of year. The trees have changed colors and you get to see all of the colors. The mountains around the area are snow capped and it’s amazing. A little steep for the first bit but then it flattens out and you hike along the side of the mountain with great views the whole way.

I LOVED this trail! It’s steep and rocky for the first ~0.7 miles but it was so worth it! The view at the top is unbeatable of both the city, the mountains and the canyon below. There’s a nice little snow dusting on the tops of the mountains which made it even prettier. You can see the salt lake too! I went around 12:00 on a Friday and it was starting to get busier when I was coming down. I’ll definitely be doing this trail again.

Great easy to follow trail. A little steep for the first 3/4 of a mile or so but not that bad. Then it’s extremely easy the rest of the way. 11 and 8 year old made it with no problem. Great views of the valley at the top.

went here hoping to find more fall trees, there are some but it still needs more changing. First 1/2 mile is a rocky uphill, then its flat with good mountain and city views. pretty rocky trail. nice short and easy hike.

Great spot to take your dog and enjoy some fall colors! First 0.6 is pretty tiring but it gets better from there. Pretty views!

So pretty!! First part was pretty steep for me, but it was also shaded. Then there was the option to take the Pipeline Trail and a couple other. The Pipeline trail was pretty flat and had breathtaking views of the canyon and valley. Such a nice hike. Didn’t see many people on the trail on a Tuesday late afternoon, and was able to find parking right at the trailhead.

Great trail! Initial .5-.6 miles were a workout. Then pretty much ridge line to the lookout. Easy to navigate and trail was really clear. Some stretches with lots of loose rock. It was well worth it! Started around 8:45 am and very little traffic on trail. Enjoy and happy hiking!
