4 adults and 6 kids ages 8-13 went on this. If you have knee problems I don’t recommend. I don’t have great knees so it was slow going for me. THIS next part, you should pay attention to. The loop isn’t clear!! I see someone else said this now that I’m looking to figure out what we did. We ended up on Woody’s and going about 2.5mi more than planned. The kids were quite miserable. We literally went off the trail and cut up the mountainside to get to the road faster because at this point we had no idea how far back we’d have to go. All in all it was quite the adventure but, man, it wasn’t the short outing we had in mind. We ran out of water and didn’t bring snacks....it was supposed to be a 1 mile hike! My suggestion is if you’re unsure, just go back the way you came! Luckily the weather wasn’t too terrible since there was a decent breeze most of the time.

All trails up in that area are closed as far as I could tell. Beautiful place for a drive though.

This trail is closed. We drove a hour to a sign that says closed. It looks like they’re doing road work.

I don’t think this is suppose to be a loop anymore. It seems they tried to block it off. But a very fun hike with the kids!

This is a great trail but it does not show up well on this map. The new trail cuts all the way back to the Brim trail and then you can take the road back. This trails much better than the one shown on this map.

We did not do the loop we just went back on the switchbacks. My kids loved it! We also loved all the beautiful wild flowers.

Awesome hike! .25 miles down is a platform attached to the trees. Great place to bring your chairs and have a picnic.

Great views and wildflowers in mid-July! The sweet scent of pine was in the air. There’s a neat treehouse midway down that will allow you to take a short break.

Great hike down! Awesome paper airplane. I wouldn’t call this a loop though. When you get to the airplane, just turn around and go back the way you came.

the part of the trail with switch backs is very nice and the paper airplane is very nice, but the side without switchbacks is very very steep. so if you are with a family i would recommend doubling back on the side with switch backs. also, the part of the trail with no switch backs is not marked very well, so make sure you have your app open so you know when to start looking for the straight ish part.
