Perfect trail. Well groomed, great mix of powder and packed snow. Perfect for snowshoe and snow biking. Great views of Main Street and Deer Valley while hiking up.
We were try to find the Ontario canyon to bald mountain trail but could not find it so we went to the mine trail
Good trail. Goes through the trees with no shade just at the end. Great views. Just a lot of traffic on the weekend.
Great hike. I had a rest day so I took the lift to the top and hiked 2.5 miles down. Scenic and fairly easy. If you ski DV and are familiar with Ontario Ski Run - it’s not quite the same path. I mistakenly thought it would be. Stay on the well-marked Ontario Hiking Trail . I had a lovely afternoon.
It’s a perfect trail for those looking for something a little more difficult but able to be handled by most hikers and kids. There are some steeper parts and the first half has a few areas that aren’t as pretty but walking through the Aspens and the view at the top of Bald Mountain is amazing. You can view every mountain in the area from the top. Also if you are tired you could take the Sterling lift down instead of walking. I hike quickly and knocked it out in 1:50 there and back.
I just did the downhill portion after getting off the Sterling lift. Beautiful views. Well marked trail. Not very steep downhills, but still challenging.
Moderate trail. We’re from San Antonio, so not used to the altitude, but we loved it. Took a little over 2 hours. Treated ourselves to the ski lift to get back down.
This is a moderate trail that cross-crosses biking trails. Once you get up closer to the peak, there are some gorgeous views. It is pretty steep at times, but nothing crazy. I recommend hiking up and then riding the Sterling Express down.
Beautiful views on the silver lake trail up. Aspen groves on the Ontario route down.
This trail was awesome, but very hard to find. Just make sure you start from the sterling ski lift. I would also recommend taking silver springs back. Beautiful views of sliver lake at the top.
Great single track loop up Bald via Ontario and down Silver Peak. Beautiful views at the top and a nice mix of wooded and exposed trail.
Pretty steep and challenging. Trail is marked well. Starts in the woods and then no shade on the top half of the mountain. Good 360 views from the top. The lift wasn’t open since it’s September, so we took Silver Lake Trail back down for a total of almost 5 miles. Would have preferred the lift down, though.
