If you park at the lower mill canyon trail head like it tells you to here, you have to follow the main road up almost a mile to find the actual trail head. Once on the trail it is wide and well groomed for about a quarter - half mile. Then it tightens up to a single track trail. It gets steeper as you go but the views are pretty. There are a couple of spots where the trail has washed out some.
