Hiked it all the way up to Marjorie Lake and back. Bit much for a day hike but totally worth it! I like the trail for the varied terrain. On the other hand, it sees a lot of cattle grazing and seems to be the main route for ranchers to get their herds up into the Marjorie Lk area. Trail really needs some maintenance too - fallen logs across the trail everywhere and unless you're a bloodhound you'll lose the trail many, many times and be forced to get out your phone to find it. The best bits are all the way at the top of the drainage. The first mile or so below Marjorie Lake is a series of gorgeous open meadows giving way to a steep gorge that the rived crashes through, complete with scenic waterfalls.

Review for first 3.5 miles in (7 mi RT), minimal elevation gain. Trail is away from the river, you can hear but not see it much of the way. Access to the water is a little out of the way. Water flow is nice, definitely not too high anymore. First two miles of the "trail" are on a road/snowmobile track. Then if becomes a proper trail. Tell your friends it sucks and keep them away ;)

As of today, you will turn around at the first river crossing due to rapid and dangerous river run off! Beware humans and pets!! Do not attempt the crossing! BIG water!! Beautiful hike out to this point. Lots of wild flowers in bloom. Very light traffic. Beautiful trail!
