Great hike but the last 300 yards to the peak are brutal. You have to scramble on hands and knees along a steep razor ridge with hundred foot drop offs on both sides. This part was not for me.

did this last summer and it's pretty rough but it's doable, also if you come on from the Millcreek side you can have dogs but not if you go back down into big cottonwood.there is a trail from Millcreek though and it's a lot steeper.

Did this as a loop hike. Started out at Butler Fork to Mill A Basin, then up Mount Raymond and finally descended via Mill B North. Getting up Mount Raymond is steep and a scramble at times. Could be difficult for someone with fear of heights.
The views from the summit are amazing all around.
The descend via Mill B North took longer than anticipated. the trail is rough and very steep at times. Saw two Golden Eagles and Snake.
total round trip distance was 10 miles with 4,600 feet in elevation change.

Beautiful hike. The first and last sections are the toughest. A little snow in the last mile, but definitely manageable without spikes/poles.

Description is incorrect. This is in the watershed, thus pet dogs are not allowed anywhere Big Cottonwood Canyon, even in your car and definitely not on this trail. There are hefty fines if you do.

Trail as described does not go to the top. To get to the top either requires taking the trail around to the north side and up or scrambling up the south or west sides.
