Wonderful trail that was not crowded. The elevation gain didn’t seem bad because it was a gradual ascent. The trail itself was in good condition and not rocky. Near the top it was sand, but not deep. There was one spot where you have to do a free solo, but the handholds and footing were good. Once you get to the Jeep road, do not go left under the red cliffs like another reviewer pointed out. We read that after the hike and we did go left, which is underneath the petroglyphs. We wandered aimlessly for awhile and missed the petroglyphs. We will go back and find them.

Last-minute whim of a hike. It exceeded expectations. The hike itself was fun and scenic with a couple of minor techy spots. The payoff at the end was terrific.

Hike and incredible views along the way and the petroglyphs are amazing! Don’t get fooled—the all trails map extends beyond where the petroglyphs are. Petroglyphs are found on the floor of the red rock overhang and are unmistakable.

Great trail; we got lost for a while on the ascent, and since others posted that they have as well, I thought I'd try to clarify what may be happening. The first part of the trail is obvious and well kept. At one point it becomes unclear and we started heading to the left (with parking lot behind us). We saw foot prints (other lost people?) and we kept ascending around to the left just under red cliffs, still more footprints. If this happens to you, this IS NOT the way to the petroglyphs. After an hour, we retraced back to the unclear part and discovered a small trail marker on one side of a small boulder (we'd gone on the other side of it and missed it.). The sign pointed up to a smallish wall that was easy to scramble over and then we were back on what was clearly the trail, and we had another 45-60 mins to the petroglyphs. Almost all of the trail is clearly a regular TRAIL, so if you're ever walking for a bit, and can't tell if it's a trail, you're probably going the wrong way. Don't let the footprints fool you! :)

Was a really great trail. Snowed this morning so things were quite sloppy especially at first. Then when we got up close the the end it started sleeting/snowing. Made for a beautiful view! Would recommend. But it is a ways up there!

Pretty neat hike. Once we got to the petroglyphs we lost the trail. We searched for about 30 minutes then sat and enjoyed the view and had a snack. Also saw quite a few fresh mountain lion tracks on the ridge. Glad we didn’t see any. Beautiful views

Great hike with a decent accent. Couldn’t find the final “stopping point” trail deemed to kind of ends at the Hieroglyphics. Also there were quite a few mountain lion tracks.

Easy side of moderate for difficulty. Steep at the start but well switched back.

This trail is correctly labeled as “moderate”. It’s not hard in most areas of the hike, but in some areas there is pretty intense climbs and thick sand. We had our dog with us and had to lift him up a few times since he’s small. The hike is WORTH IT. Beautiful views and incredible experience

Great trail, really fun for dogs. At one spot you will need to be able to lift and lower your dog unless they’re incredibly agile. It’s a lot easier walking than it seems like it would be. My Garmin recorded about twice the listed elevation gain but the length was fairly accurate.

An ok, relatively easy trail. But definitely not Utah's best.

What an incredible hike with my family. Not too difficult. Had a great time looking at all the petroglyphs on the floor of the overhang. Got a kick out of how large the ancient men portrayed their packages.

Very nice trail. Went off it at one point about 1.1 miles in where didn’t realize we needed to hop some rocks. Great views. Snow pretty much melted. First 1.5 miles is moderate climbing after that pretty easy to the petroglyphs. I only recorded 4.8 miles even going off trail. However I think AllTrails starts it at street, but you can drive in to parking area past the water tank.

Amazing trail. Convenient parking lot just a short way from the end of the street. The trail goes up a series of switchbacks that yield incredible views. Plenty of climbing before reaching the top, but it wasn't too difficult. We hiked it when there was still a lot of snow on the ground, which created a lovely contrast to the red sandstone cliffs and verdant pine trees. I would wholeheartedly recommend this trail.

A beautiful trail. We hiked it with a fresh dusting of snow on the ground. Whoever designed the switchbacks deserves an award. Petroglyphs were really cool to see at the end.
