Great views!

This trail was amazing in the spring! Enough rain to make everything green, and not yet hot enough to dry everything out! Just gorgeous! The crowds are less here; I passed fewer than a dozen other hikers in the 8-miles. Some spots require scrambling close to ledges so being confident on your feet was pretty important.

As a winter hike this was gorgeous. Some ice and snow in the north-facing areas at the bottom of the canyons, but the trail was already stomped out by a few hikers before us. Some exposure and 3rd class climbing moves to get into and out of canyons, and one ladder to climb on the trail. Otherwise great views the entire way!

A very cool hike, but a challenging one. A hike that rewards you with solitude and awesome views. I've not experienced a disappointing hike yet in Canyonlands.

Much of this trail is slogging through sand, but the amazing panoramas make it all worth it, and the mile of trail just south of the junction with squaw canyon is one of the best stretches in the Needles.

This route takes you on a physically and visually stimulating trail. Up and over canyon ridges, into and around the next, down along the stream bed, and enough guessing/searching to keep your senses alert. Phenomenal path in an amazing area.

moderately challenging. really enjoyed every part of this diverse trail. the climb out to the southern end of squaw canyon was a scramble, but the view back towards the bottom of lost canyon is seared in my brain.

Great scenery. Lunch at the highest point was worth the climb - beautiful vista!

I did this trail on a clear beautiful Sunday. The panoramas were spectacular. A nice mix of trails across open prairie, slickrock, a well placed and sturdy ladder, sandy canyon riverbed and shady forest in the back canyons. Some scrambling involved but not difficult. The trail was very easy to follow. Highly recommended to experience the beauty of Canyonlands NP Needles district.

I loved this trail. Some challenge for a 63 year old, but worth it all. Be sure to take bug spray because the mosquitoes were pretty bad along the low places where there was still a lot of water. Much easier than the Squaw Canyon/Big Spring Canyon Loop.
