It should have been a cue when the trail immediately vanished, but trusting the map and GPS I kept pushing through. It’s not even that it’s a bad trail, I kept right on top of it and there was none. I tried taking the alternative route down from the top, it was even worse! Once back on the main paths the trails are well marked and easy to navigate. The views were worth doing it once, but never again. If you try this be prepared for bushwhacking.

There are multiple use trails going up to the peak. You just have to walk along the trail until you find one that suits you. We found one going up and another one part way down. Nice view from the top

Great views from the top but there is no trail once you step off of the dog lake trail. Be prepared to Bushwhack. Coming down through the overgrowth is a bit hard on the ankles. Trekking poles are nice on the descent.

Nice "short" but challenging hike! I did this one with my SIberian Husky Kaya :-) Before continuing on to Dog Lake, the trail will veer off left. It is not a very well defined "trail" at this point so be prepared for about a mile or so of bushwhacking. It's well worth the effort as the view gives impressive outlook points of Millcreek Canyon and beyond. Someone needs to come up here with a machete or an Eagle Scout should do a project to make the last ascent to the summit navigable. This is a beautiful time to go hiking up Millcreek. The fall leaves are coming into full bloom and the colors are amazing!
