Little Mountain Trail is a 3.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Salt Lake City, Utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
This trail is easy to navigate and well packed. If you're looking for a family-friendly hike that's rather easy and safe, this would be a good one. The beginning is a short, steep hike up a hill and then it flattens out. A great running trail too, some of the trails are pretty narrow though and there’s no shade. But you can enjoy nice views of Emigration Canyon and the reservoir.
Love this trail. A bit of a climb at the very beginning, but then gently rolling inclines. Snow is not super packed, would recommend snowshoes.
Steep sections with 3-4 feet of powder. Snowing and foggy , no views:(
It was a breezy day which my ears didn't appreciate, but good weather otherwise. The trail is mainly snow packed and can get rather slippery. I'd recommend snowshoes or trekking poles, if don't want to take a spill or two. When not packed the snow level can be ankle, calf or knee deep. Super fun! Parking is quite muddy; almost got my car stuck but was able to rock my way out.
Beautiful views all the way through. Some more parts would have been easier with snowshoes but definitely not necessary.
Lovely hike for a sunny day with snow on the ground. Fairly easy hike that will challenge your balance if you don’t have spikes or sticks. Gorgeous views- do it! Trail is pretty open; windy days will be extra chilly.
Beautiful, clear views of the surrounding mountains. Pretty exposed, so if it was windy it would be cold. Spikes were helpful towards the end of the hike, but not necessary.
Not very icy. Did the whole hike without YakTraks, but I would recommend them. Really no big "end" to the hike. Just kinda stops.
Beautiful sunny day. With snow like today, I’d rate the trail as moderate.
Nice, easy trail! There’s some ice and snow at the “end” where you turn around, but overall it was sunny and the views are great. Recommend going a little earlier in the day so the sun isn’t in your face on the way back.
Hiked with my 3.5 year old. Trail was really muddy. Note that the trail as marked doesn't take you to the top of Little Mountain.
