Did a Sunday hike. It was a little overcast to start, which is perfect for this trail. Trail was in good condition all the way to Lewis. Enjoyed a couple side trial while on top. Great Day

Great, challenging, steady climb workout for me, an intermediate mountain biker. Just went up about 2.5 miles to the lookout over Pineview where the trail flattens out. Gorgeous scenery the entire way. The wildflowers were in full bloom and so fragrant. Narrow trail. Not super technical; a few challenging spots with loose, sheer rock. Felt about 50% flat packed dirt 50% rocky. Super fun going down! Saw 2 hikers and about 15 motor bikers (which I think was unusual to have that many on the trail at once). Wasn’t a problem. Great, challenging ride!

Stunning views the entire hike up. The first 2.5 miles is hard but it is much easier after that. I wasn't prepared for the mountain bikers coming down the trail and had to jump off the trail twice to avoid an accident. Less than 50% of the dogs I saw were on leashes. Overall great hike.

Amazing views of everything along the way. I suggest waiting a couple more weeks if you are not willing to be knee deep in snow part of the way.

First off, if you don’t have spikes, great gripping shoes, poles, and possibly snowshoes, don’t hike this right now! Trail still has a ton of snow on it and up top is no different. We ran out of time at about half way and turned back. Great hike, I would just say to give it another month if your not an avid hiker.

Pretty compacted. Post holed in a few spots. Beautiful day to get out and above the valley crud.
