Super rad short hike, the waterfall is actually a super cool hidden oasis, beautiful place to see the sunset from.

HikingGreat!

The waterfall is absolutely stunning especially with the red rocks and mountain peaks in the background. The lake you can totally tell is man made and looks like a puddle. Great spot for camping and plenty of lots.

the part through the campground wasn't great, but the hike to the falls was worth it.

There’s a reason it’s called ‘faux’ falls. Not a lick of water in the creek bed. It’s still an alright hike, but just doesn’t hit the same when you’re expecting to be able to cool off

Wouldn’t do this hike right now. The river and pools are all dried up. I would wait until spring to possibly do this

Nature trips

The trail is unmarked. As soon as you pull up to the lake it is filled with dead fish and oil. Do not walk, swim, or let your dogs play in it. Be prepared to bring dawn soap and disinfectant wipes. We didn’t even bother going to the fall because this place is disgusting, stinky, and obviously the city dumps oil there.

Nothing is better than a waterfall in the middle of the desert. Especially one that you can play in and cool off from the heat. The trail is a little difficult to navigate starting from Ken's Lake. Nothing that I saw was marked for Faux Falls until you get closer and pass through some of the campgrounds. When we arrived at Ken's Lake, we started walking towards the campgrounds, youll pass the bathrooms, walk through some sand, not much shade, and unless you are an avid collector of prickly pears, I would not encourage picking them from the cactus. I did- and I got what felt like a thousand little glass slivers on both my hands. If this happens though because let's face it, we have to touch the wet paint, when you get to the falls, take both your hands and buff them on the rocks by the waterfall, it helps buff off the spikes and the water helps it not feel so uncomfortable. we arrived around 530ish and it was still warm, but we had the place to ourselves for about 15 minutes. it was amazing and a fun little gem in the middle of the desert. Just follow the river up and you'll stay on track.

We started from the lake and hiked the Faux Falls Creek Trail, which can be hard to find at first. It crosses into a couple camp areas before following the creek up to the falls, which are beautiful! There are a lot of wild flowers along the trail, which was a nice bonus. Fairly easy.

Awesome trail but you can drive literally ALL THE WAY up to the waterfall if you wanted to, that would’ve saved us some energy to enjoy the beautiful waterfall!

Hiking along the stream was a blast. Waterfalls are beautiful. Some shady spots for the kids to play in water and create stuff in there sand.

Beautiful stream and small waterfall in the middle of the rocky desert. Refreshing when the area is hot. Combined with the lake, perfect short hike with kids.

We checked out the lake for a second, but found it to be a bit dirty, with some litter and a lot of dog pool at it so we actually just skipped the lake and parked at the campground just east of the lake and hiked to the base of faux falls and up to the upper falls. It was a beautiful sunset/ moonlight hike! The lake was a little buggy but the trail to the falls was much nicer. A bit sandy and rocky so wear appropriate footware.

Crazy windy. A bunch of weeds around the lake. Dusty and dirty with ATVs going by. No shade. No sand on the shore, just rocky hard dirt.

Gravel two-track around Kens Lake Dam. Great for fishing but a relatively boring hike around the man-made lake. The view of the Lasal Mountain range is gorgeous though and unlike most of Moab there are relatively few people.
