Fun trail to access the upper emerald pool. Get there early, parking was full by 6:45am the Tuesday after Memorial Day.

This was one of my favorite trails in the park! Amazing views! It ends at the emerald pool which was frozen but it was still a lovely spot to end. Ice chunks were falling off the top of the mountain onto the frozen lake which was exhilarating to see so I recommend to NOT be one of those people that walk onto the frozen pool to take a picture.

Relatively easy trail to get to Upper Emerald Pools. Nothing too difficult about the trail. I’m sure the payoff is better in warmer parts of the year but it was still a good hike. Saw some deer up close that made the experience that much better.

Used this to get to the Upper Emerald Pools. Gradual incline and great views throughout. Pretty crowded even in December.

Outstanding weather in the upper50’s-warming to 60’s for this hike to upper emerald pool. Some great views with some fall color looking down on the virgin river as you ascend to the upper pool. The lower was closed. Moderate traffic. Not much water in the pool but a nice shady cool spot for a lunch break.

Fun trail to the upper emerald pool. A little scrambling on some of the rocks but still a cool hike.

The trail connection to lower pool is closed so you have to do it as an out and back. Gorgeous views throughout the trail for such an easy climb.

No one was on the Sand Bench Trail from Zion Lodge to the Court of the Patriarchs. Great quiet trail with great views!

Heavily trafficked, but a nice short, easy hike with good views.

We did the hike in the beginning of October and proceeded to the upper emerald pools. Quite an easy hike - there's nice view of the valley in the beginning of the hike, the upper emerald pools were disappointing.

A new section was opened today so the trail is now around 1 mile in each direction. Great afternoon trip when the sun is hidden behind the mountains. Could be too hot in the middle of the day.

An underrated trail IMO. Even though upper emerald pools are currently closed we still did the part of this trail that we could and were not disappointed. Great views of the river, canyons and beautiful vegetation as you head up.

We did the part that is currently open (0.8 miles). It was a nice, quiet hike. Good views of the Virgin River and many peaks.

From the Angels Landing trailhead at the Grotto you can hike 0.8 miles of this. It’s a pretty little trail, and after the crowds on Angels Landing, the solitude of a quiet hike felt wonderful. Worth it just for a moment of contemplation if nothing else.

Not too challenging. Majestic views! Hike follows the Virgin river. Passed a waterfall that was flowing despite no recent rain. Take the emerald pools trail for an added challenge.

We created a loop by combining the Kayenta Trail and Grotto Trail, while visiting the lower, middle and upper pools. Just short of 4 miles. Great views and experience for the whole family.

I definitely recommend starting with this trail for some rad views of the park. This trail in connection with upper and lower emerald pools made for a decent hike. Kayenta was my favorite part though.

Took this to go to upper emerald pool and came down the emerald pool trail. Pretty views all the way to the top. Middle pool was disappointing but upper pool was nice especially with some rocks to scramble on.

We hiked from the Grotto to the Emerald pools great canyon views and little congestion

We took this back from Emerald pools as well. It was a great way to see more of the landscapes of Zion, rather than doing an out and back.

Nice hike that connects the emerald pools trails to the Grotto stop which connects to Angel’s Landing. Is a great option when the trial is crowded since most people take the emerald trials back down to the lodge.

We took the Kayenta trail from the Grotto bus stop towards the Emerald pools. The trail was pretty easy going, but the views both up and down the canyon were pretty amazing. This trail is definitely worth the time to explore.

Took this trail up and continued onto the Kayenta trail. Very beautiful and an easy walk. I even did it with my 10 month old in his jogging stroller. Handled the bumps and rocks just fine. The inclines weren’t a problem either. A few parts we had to lift the stroller up and down some rocky steps. But didn’t slow us down at all. Will definitely do it again.
